As a Product Investigations & Removal Manager, you will be responsible for managing product safety investigations of guest incidents and overseeing product removals, including Recalls, across all retail channels for specific Target Brand and National Brand product categories. This role helps ensure Target's compliance to regulatory requirements and brings visibility to potential product safety issues to minimize impact to our Guests. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review, investigate, and trend Guest safety incidents for assigned product categories
  • Apply critical thinking and leverage internal guidelines to determine incident reporting to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC)
  • Drive potential safety concern escalations - arising from guest concerns, website information, photography, and other factors - to enterprise stakeholders, ensuring actions steps are timely executed
  • Create, manage, and send notifications to product vendors and cross functional teams for all matters reported to the CPSC
  • Lead biweekly Product Concerns Meeting discussions for applicable products and document meeting discussion and action steps
  • Responsible for overseeing product removal execution, documentation and escalation by providing coaching, support, and direction to PIR Associate Analysts
  • Initiate or lead vendor communication and meetings to address potential safety concerns for National and Target brand products, as well as process National Brand recall notices.
  • Ensure proper documentation requirements are maintained in all case files and systems
  • Support Sr. Managers with enterprise projects and risk mitigation activities
  • Develop and execute process improvements and ensure documentation compliance to Controlled Document requirements
  • Support the development and/or maintenance of department metrics and reporting
  • Provide coverage support to Product Investigations and Removal team members

About You (Minimum Requirements)
  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years relevant experience, preferably within a corporate setting
  • Excellent critical thinking, attention to detail and communication skills
  • Strong ability in risk based decision making and influencing others
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to successfully work autonomously within a multi-task and multi-system environment under pressure
  • Ability to make good decisions with limited or ambiguous information
  • Respects, appreciates and values diverse voices and approaches
  • Committed to creating equitable experiences and fostering an inclusive team
  • Experience with Microsoft applications: Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, etc.


Desired Requirements
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) regulatory requirements, or other federal government agencies regulations
  • Experience in Product Safety, Product Compliance or Risk Management
  • Experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Management
