MEDIA SPECIALIST, TEST DEVELOPMENT
 

This position reports directly to the Director of Media and Composition and is part of the Assessment Production group and will be located in DRC's Plymouth, MN office. Duties of this position include modifying and maintaining test items and passages while adhering to and implementing DRC and client/project specific styles and specifications; utilizing the processes currently established in DRC's proprietary item banking system, IDEAS as needed, and following graphic specific processes and procedures utilizing graphic software.


Position Responsibilities

 

  • Create images for all Test Development testing items utilizing Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Adobe Creative Suite knowledge, including InDesign
  • Design all graphics for digital and print
  • Create tech-enhanced items (e.g., bubble input, drag and drop, hotspot, click to respond, layered input) for online presentation in INSIGHT (proprietary software)
  • Use IDEAS item bank and its related tools to maintain process efficiencies
  • Adhere to specific client design styles and requirements
  • Collaborate effectively within the team and with other production teams and business units
  • Qualifications
     
  • Bachelor’s degree in art, design or graphic arts
  • Solid foundation in drawing principles (body form, color, composition)
  • High level of proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Demonstrate knowledge in software applications such as InDesign, with understanding of layout and/or publication style
  • Knowledge of print and web production
  • Proficient in Windows PC environment
  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing circumstances and direction while retaining attention to detail and accuracy
  • Well-developed, professional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate clearly to diverse groups of people
  • Thrives in a team environment, and can give and receive constructive criticism effectively
  • Be task oriented and focused—a self-starter who can meet tight deadlines
  • Preferred

  • Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in Illustration
  • Understand basic CSS for online development      
  • Experience with large scale assessment test design 
  • Reporting to this position:  No direct reports

     

    Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit and/or stand for up to 8-hour periods of time
  • Ability to look at a computer monitor, utilize a keyboard and/or mouse for up to 8 hours per day
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds as necessary
