Minnesota Counties Intergovernmental Trust (MCIT), located in St. Paul, MN is seeking its next executive director. MCIT is a joint powers government entity that provides property, liability and workers’ compensation as well as risk management and loss control services to member counties and their associated public entities.

The Executive Director provides the overall administration, management, oversight and strategic direction for MCIT as determined by the Board of Directors and is responsible to ensure the continued solvency and financial viability of MCIT. The position requires a high degree of independent judgement, management expertise, knowledge of advanced program administration and operations and service delivery approaches. In addition, the position requires experience in public entity operations and knowledge in the fields of finance, insurance, public sector claims management, legislation, risk management, personnel management and public relations.

Applicants must have:

• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and at least 8 years’ experience in public sector administration and/or association management with an emphasis in insurance, enterprise risk management, government operations or finance.

OR

• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and any combination of education and experience that would demonstrate the ability to perform the work.
