The Manufacturing/Extrusion Process Engineer will be responsible for managing Process Transitions through Validation to Manufacturing control. This individual will be responsible for Process Improvement and Optimization through Continuous Improvement and Process Development projects. This individual will manage Process Development and Continuous Improvement projects while developing and sustaining an infrastructure for Lean / Six Sigma within Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee EBS:

    • Supervise at least two operators

    • Maintains a safe environment through best practices

    • Interacts with customers:

      • Receives and manages purchase orders

      • Provides completion dates and updates when delayed

      • Coordinates customer test procedure requirements

      • Notify customer of order completion and shipment tracking number

      • Support customer requests, surveys, calibrations, etc.

    • Schedule production

    • Maintenance:

      • Manage spare parts

      • Schedule annual Open Audit PM

      • Schedule upgrades to be done during annual PM’s

      • Manages internal PM’s for production equipment

  • Supports NPD in transitions

  • Conducts Process Validations and Equipment Qualifications

  • Leads Process Improvement / Optimization Initiatives

  • Participates or leads 5S activities

  • Participates or leads Kaizen events

  • Project Management through execution of industry stands lean processes

  • Provides support on industrial vision systems, motion control, and automation electronics

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum BS degree in Engineering or equivalent

  • Minimum 7 years in process development and execution

  • Manufacturing/Process Engineering experience

  • Experience with Process/Product Transitions through Validation to Manufacturing

  • Demonstrated Project Management experience dealing with interdisciplinary interaction to meet project schedules

  • Experience with project costing/budgeting

  • General understanding of statistical analysis for purposes of equipment validation

  • Experienced with Process Improvement/Optimization utilizing Lean Six Sigma (LSS) skillset

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Hands on

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Strongly motivated and goal oriented

  • Will adjust working hours and/or work extra hours to meet project deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Tooling Design

  • Experience with Laser processes and optics

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)

  • Rheology
