Senior Designer, Enterprise Communications

Target is an iconic brand, a Fortune 50 company and one of America's leading retailers.

A role with Target Enterprise Communications means a chance to continuously improve the quality, relevance, creativity and authenticity of internal and external storytelling. You'll develop deep relationships with business partners and other creatives to ensure critical information comes to life visually - building confidence, engagement and joy with our team members and external audiences.

As Senior Designer, you will serve as a graphic designer and visual communications strategist on a multi-disciplinary team of writers, art directors and content strategists within Enterprise Communications. The ideal candidate is a conceptual thinker with a strong aesthetic who has the ability to apply visual language and inclusive design towards engaging storytelling. You are both highly collaborative and self-directed, possessing the skills to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

You'll play a role in:
  • Graphic design: you'll ideate, conceptualize and execute design for Target's internal and external communications channels, including our corporate site, social media and email channels, as well as creating brand identities and style guides for special projects.
  • Visual storytelling: you'll work with internal partners to identify and react quickly to apply leading-edge visual design to our stories, with the goal of helping audiences understand Target's purpose, culture and strategy.
  • Innovation: you'll bring an innovative approach to all work and prioritize continuous improvement to keep communications fresh and engaging.
  • Collaboration: you'll work across the communications team, communications agencies and key Target business partners to accomplish projects. A knack for successful collaboration is critical.
  • Operational support: you'll use your project and organizational skills to assist in daily editorial publications. You'll also collaborate across the team when and where there's a design need.

About you:
  • 5+ years of experience working within advertising agencies, creative studios or media organizations with an emphasis on creating design work and/or editorial storytelling
  • Solid portfolio demonstrating breadth of design and related experience
  • Strong digital, conceptual, production and composition skills
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Strong photo editing, typography and layout skills
  • Video and studio photography skills a plus
  • Ability to develop and execute multiple projects at once and against very tight deadlines
  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking, presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
