Are you a critical thinker who seeks the root cause and can analyze both qualitatively and quantitatively? Are you a creative problem-solver who simplifies problems, quickly identifies solutions, commits to a plan and then positively influences others to execute it? If so, you will have success on one of our dynamic teams.

About the job:

A role on the supply chain Operating Solutions Design Team means being at the heart of our perpetual reimagining. This group is the think tank and laboratory for the innovative ideas that spark change throughout the supply chain. You will do great work in an agile environment, and show off your cross-functional chops by managing complex relationships, partnerships and interactions. You will solve very specific, high-priority business challenges, each with its own problem-statement-turned-personal-mission. The best part of the team is we take our ideas and own them through implementation in the physical supply chain at Target. The role will also keep you engaged with the ongoing operations that flow goods to our stores and guests as you and your team support ongoing continuous improvement activities in service to our stores and warehouse team members. Your specific expertise-whether it's people, process, technology, or data-will be felt well beyond the boundaries of our Supply Chain organization, positively impacting our stores, Target team members and guests alike.

As a Director Operating Solutions Design, you will set the vision for a cohesive capability strategy for Target's current and future flow of product across the network. You will uncover and design creative and innovative ways to move our products faster and more efficiently to deliver uncompromising service to our guests. In this role you will be the decision maker across multiple supply chain business units to deliver on the global supply chain strategy. This leader will be the cohesive thread from operational performance and ongoing strategic process design through deployment.

You will manage large scale projects with multiple interdependencies and a team of designers that are working in an Agile environment solving complex supply chain problems and designing current and future processes. You'll leverage your ability to extract insights from data and analytics, deep root cause and problem solving to provide solutions for current and future problems and cultivate this methodology across the team. You will help your teams identify operational improvements along with recommendations of improvement in an iterative process that will impact over 18,000 team members. You will be a coach and mentor to process teams that are in charge of the physical and virtual process flows. As a leader, you must be bold and know how to work in a fast pace environment. Paramount to your success will be your ability to set goals and team alignment to achieve the objectives along with being comfortable with failing but failing fast. Success in this role will be measured by your ability to lead project execution and capability development, co-developing solutions at idea conception with process design owners, Target Tech, Operations, Stores, Automation, and Quality to create an error free capability with a high level of first pass yield. Good looks like an error free design process that has little to no rework loop, where work is prioritized with all teams to deliver the highest impact focusing on the capabilities that affect the most processes.
