A role with the Localization and Small Format merchandising team means delivering a locally relevant guest experience. Through curating assortments that are right for each neighborhood in both our existing stores and our growing portfolio of small format stores, you'll create value for guests and communities while seeing your work benefit all of Target.

Primary Function

As a Buyer on the Localization Team you will collaborate with Merchant Partners to create segmentation strategies through analytical rigor, influencing integration into their assortment in support of financial objectives. You will work across teams to ensure segmentation goals are both developed and consistently executed across categories. You will provide critical input into the development of assortment capabilities that will enable business value by improving the quality, timing, speed and flexibility of assortment decisions down to the appropriate segmented and localized level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish clear Climate assortment & financial goals for Apparel & Accessories.
  • You will leverage your experience in strategic and cross-functional leadership, planning and execution to develop and implement Store-Level strategies and tactics.
  • You will consult with Core Buyers and Planners as they develop individual category-level strategies, providing insights and recommendations for their assortment plans at a localized level.
  • You will capture guest and competitive insights through Virtual Store Visits and partnering with Store Operations and Field Leaders.
  • You will partner with Leaders at varying levels to ensure Climate strategy comes to life through shared financial accountability, assortment planning and execution, and with promotional and visual merchandising support by advocating for assessment and execution of Climate strategies in conjunction with established routines.
  • You will partner with Merchant, Product and EDABI teams to develop improved guest centric segmentation for A&A and influence assort to location capabilities that will deliver on established financial goals of the category.
  • Special projects as assigned related to assortment localization.
  • Manage external vendor relationships as needed for Supplemental Buying Tests

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of merchandising experience
  • Flexibility, resiliency, & adaptability; comfortable working in "grey areas" that are constantly changing
  • Performance-driven individual who demonstrates strong initiative and demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with experience collaborating with multiple cross-functional
  • Demonstrated cultural competency and passion for diversity & inclusion
  • Must be able to prioritize and manage competing priorities effectively
  • Strong strategic, financial, analytical, and planning skills
