Mechanical Design Engineer Co-op
Assist with design and prototyping of new products, and improvements to existing products Conduct tests, and collect and analyze data of new or existing products
Participate and Lead Rapid Improvement (Kaizen) events (1 week long event to improve processes)
Recognize and help with problem solving efforts in the Product Development Lab
Work with design engineers to reduce costs and help improve quality of product
Education: Pursuing a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Experience with 3D CAD software, Creo Parametric is a plus
Basics of manufacturing processes such as welding, metal cutting and forming, painting and assembly
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts
Experience in fixture design (part specific tables and tools to help with manufacturing practices)
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Strong leadership skills to lead a team and pull information from others
Problem solving skills
Demonstrated computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Creo
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing
Ability to work on multiple projects at one time Prioritize based on due dates or importance of projects
