This Sr. Service Manager role supports Target Tech's Stores, Assets, and Vendor Experience ("SAVE") team. SAVE manages those suppliers that provide on-site (and off-site) break/fix repair of retail technology along with management of the associated hardware spare pool inventory. As a Sr. Service Manager within SAVE, you will be focused on building expertise in a variety of hardware platforms and the associated hardware within spare pool. This includes partnering and working closely with Target Tech engineers and requires technical experience and familiarity working with hardware used in retail environments. This role will ensure that hardware spare pool inventory is healthy and at appropriate levels to be immediately dispatched across all Target facilities. Additionally, this Sr. Service Manager will work closely with SAVE's HQ Depot, which provides depot services (shipment, processing, and receipt of inventory) for Target facilities. This includes providing direction regarding depot services priorities, process development and improvements, and occasional hands-on physical processing of inventory. Because of the scope of this role, there is frequent on-site headquarters task execution and collaboration required.

Additional responsibilities include:
  • End-to-end management of Target spare pool inventory, including the purchase, allocation, and financial forecasting and budgeting of inventory. The expectation is that this role build expertise in the various hardware platforms this role supports.
  • First point of contact for depot services - working closely with Target Tech engineers on hardware support model and process as well as initially enhancing the physical configuration of the depot services space (racking, etc).
  • Review of hardware repair documentation related to various hardware devices - streamlining and enhancing documentation to align with Target standards.
  • Utilizing data and creating associated reporting to inform decisions, including analytics regarding hardware breakage trends as well as impacting financial decisions on purchasing, forecasting, budgeting, and reconciliation.
  • Partnering with Target Tech engineers and other service managers to understand the overall needs of the business.

About you:
  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of retail business/technology experience
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience working with hardware - including troubleshooting.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills - very strong experience in Excel is required, ServiceNow and Domo experience is preferred
  • Experience in creative problem solving for technical issues
  • Demonstrated track record of effective results oriented tasks
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment, and interest in supporting a high impact service
  • Analytical, reasoning, and negotiations skills
  • Curiosity in exploring different ways of doing things.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, presentation and written communication skills
  • Willingness to work both independently as well as collaborate with multiple partners
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical problems and understand technical ecosystem
