MEMBERSHIP ENROLLMENT REPRESENTATIVE - STATE

Work Location: In the office or hybrid (in the office 3 or more days per week)

Position Description

This position is responsible to assist with the overall operations of the organization's billing department. Serve as department resource and liaison to provide accurate timely responses and resolution to inquiries and complaints from members, authorized parties, and internal departments. Assist with department processing to meet deadlines and targets. Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of basic financial tasks to ensure member accounts are established and maintained appropriately. Sort incoming mail, process and handle cash postings and deposits, EFT establishment and/or QA, initiate and respond to Service Forms and member correspondence as needed to ensure member financial information is updated appropriately.

• Process invoices, including accurate and timely premium payments, posting, reconciling, refunding and handling bank returns.

• Manage member financial information within billing system, including initial EFT (electronic financial transfer) form entry.

• Manage required and requested communication to members.

• Support members who are delinquent with their billing payments.

• Respond to member and insurance broker inquiries.

• Process payments to ensure members have access to member benefits.

• Coordinate and collaborate with Customer Service and Billing and Enrollment teams to resolve member inquiries.

• Generate reports and assist with audits as needed.

• Manage individual and group broker emails, requests and quarterly reporting.

• Identify errors in enrollment and billing through knowledge of contractual and regulatory requirements, policies, and internal and external systems.

• Participate in process and quality improvement, department initiatives/plan and employee engagement. Provide input into department policies and procedures, including creating and maintaining work instructions.

• Other projects and duties required.

Education

High School Diploma or GED.

Required Experience

One year billing or accounts receivable experience in insurance or healthcare setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Data entry experience. One year customer service experience. Ability to effectively manage varying workloads, stress levels and tight deadlines. Strong time-management, priority-setting and organizational skills.

Preferred Experience

Three years of billing or account receivable experience in a health insurance or healthcare setting. Experience with State, Medicare, Medicaid or Individual and Family health insurance plans. Demonstrated proficiency and experience in Intermediate Excel Skills. Alpha-numeric Data Entry test of 6,000 keystrokes per hour. 10 Key numeric data entry 6000 keystrokes per hour.
