The primary purpose of this role will be to post all customer payments, research discrepancies, lead collection efforts and general office duties including mail distribution, scanning and filing. This role will also serve as backup to our other accounting coordinator roles. Support Corporate Accounting, divisions, and subsidiary accounting groups as required. As needed, review system-generated transactions to ensure proper process execution.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Process and apply all customer and miscellaneous payments including checks, credit cards and ACH
Prepare all remote deposits and process through our banking portal.
Research and reconcile any discrepancies in payment application or customer modification
Lead the collection efforts for customer accounts which have exceeded terms
Support the sales team with respect to any credit card payment issues or modified terms
Prepare all outgoing checks for mailing
Regularly scan invoices, pick tickets and shipping documents for electronic storage
Provide backup for other accounting coordinator roles within the finance team
Participate in the development of reporting to better communicate cost accounting information in support of The Toro Company’s initiatives and provide information to division finance personnel to assist them in making business decisions.
Assist in year-end audit work and assist internal and external audit teams as required.
Ensure compliance with all departmental SOX 404 control procedures, support the Internal Control group and external auditors in their testing of those controls as required, and participate in department internal control documentation projects.
Miscellaneous projects and duties as assigned to help advance finance function initiatives.
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of two years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing setting.
Computer Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word. Experience with ERP systems, specifically Macola a plus.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend instructions and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Reasoning Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Technician III must have the ability to solve non-routine problems.
