Description:
About us:

Target is one of the world's most recognized brands and one of America's leading retailers.

Target's Global Supply Chain and Logistics is evolving at an incredible pace. We are constantly reimagining how we get the right product to the guest even better, faster and more cost effectively than before. We are becoming more intelligent, automated and algorithmic in our decision-making, so that no matter how guests shop-in stores or on Target.com-we deliver the convenience and immediate gratification they demand and deserve. We are on a mission to win decisively over any competitor, with a seamless and superior guest service experience unlike any they can offer. Our teams work with the agility our mission requires, and we constantly come together to implement new processes in record time. So we're looking for exceptional people who are proactive, creative, independent, innovative, risk-savvy and comfortable working in varying degrees of ambiguity. Are you a critical thinker who seeks the root cause and can analyze both qualitatively and quantitatively? Are you a creative problem-solver who simplifies problems, quickly identifies solutions, commits to a plan and then positively influences others to execute it? If so, you will have success on one of our dynamic teams.

A role in Indirect and Reverse Logistics (IRL) means managing the inbound throughput and placement of the indirect materials that are required to operate Target stores and distribution centers. The Indirect Inventory Management team is responsible for demand intake, ordering, and tracking the non-retail products (e.g. Fixtures) that are required to operate both Target stores and distribution centers and providing timely visibility to Enterprise partners.

As a Sr. Inventory Operations Analyst within IRL, you will aid in documentation of current state operations and provide recommendations to optimize IRL capabilities associated with highly visible company-wide initiatives including New Stores, Remodels, Special Projects and Transitions. This role requires a person with a strong knowledge of supply chain, logistics, and inventory management operations and a bias for action. The applicant should be comfortable driving results in a fast paced, entrepreneurial setting while collaborating and communicating with a variety of stakeholders and leaders across the company.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Execute process and best practice documentation strategy across IRL Inventory Management and Supplier Performance Management.
  • Engage with partners supporting all project types (NS/Remodels, Transitions, and Special Projects) to aid in developing requirements for future IRL capability enhancements.
  • Influence future state vision and processes by sharing expertise and learnings with partners.
  • Develop and implement cross-functional processes and routines that improve KPI metrics.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with relevant upstream and downstream partners.
  • Scope of work and job duties may change at any time based on business need.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or a related field or Equivalent Experience
  • 3+ years of experience working in supply chain, preferably inventory management.
  • Excellent analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility, resiliency, and nimbleness; ability to manage 'grey areas' with changing needs
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and challenge the status quo.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority.
  • Ability to balance both short and long-term priorities, and re-prioritize as needed.
  • Desire to teach and share skills and knowledge with others
