The Last Mile Operations & Integration team at Target is responsible for moving E-Commerce shipments from our unique Omnichannel fulfillment network to our Guests' homes. More than 80% of that volume originates in over 1400 of our Stores making Target the largest volume true Omnichannel shipper out there. Servicing the transportation out of that huge distributed network and high volumes means a simultaneous microscopic attention to day to day detail as well as the ability to step back and think strategically in order to drive change within Target and with our carriers to fully leverage our Stores as Hubs strategy and provide maximum Best in Class Guest Experience.

As a Senior Process Engineer, you'll design, develop, and implement processes in support of Target's long-term supply chain strategy. In this role, you will work closely with Last Mile Integration and core business teams (inclusive of Field Operations, Engineering & Activation, Sortation Center field teams, Store Operations, Operations Intelligence, Digital Operations, etc.) to invent, design, and build solutions designed to ensure safety, quality, speed, and efficiency throughout the Last Mile value chain. Process engineers will be expected develop and follow a rigorous and disciplined approach to collecting and analyzing data to effectively determine and prove solutions that will be scaled throughout the value chain.

About You:

  • Four-year degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, statistics, or supply chain or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years' experience in operations management for manufacturing or distribution facilities
  • Experience in continuous improvement and/or process engineering principles (inclusive of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies) to create solutions for large scale operations with many interdependencies
  • Experience in deep problem scoping/assessment through value stream mapping, project management, process development, and process engineering
  • Demonstrated experience in problem solving through data and analytics and applying solutions across broad-scale operations


  • Proven experience achieving results through project management
  • Strong ability to think critically and creatively from problem scoping to solution development
  • Ability to travel up to 60%
  • Advanced degree in engineering preferred
  • Inventory control/quality assurance experience preferred


  • Six sigma certification (black belt) preferred
  • Experience working in an Agile framework preferred
