JOIN US AS A SENIOR AI SCIENTIST - DEMAND FORECAST ENGINE (Time Series and Applied ML)

Join Target's Artificial Intelligence team where you can help define and shape what the future of retail looks like! • Gather and analyze data to solve and address highly complex business problems and evaluate scenarios to make predictions on future outcomes and support decision making
  • Produce large scale implementations of various ML models using multiple rich data sources
  • Learn from your global teammates as you collaborate to develop effective AI solutions for Target

Requirements:
  • MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research or equivalent work experience in related field
  • Demonstrated proficiency in one of the following programming languages: Python, Java or Scala
  • 3+ years of experience developing and deploying algorithms in a production environment
  • Strong engineering mindset and exposure to software engineering principles, agile methodologies, data pipeline engineering, distributed systems and ML at scale
  • Experience querying large databases with SQL, HQL or some variation
  • Strong collaboration skills and a willingness to teach and learn from both tech and business experts
  • A strong passion for empirical research and for answering hard questions with data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred:
  • Experience designing algorithms for time series forecasting and demand forecasting engines
  • Experience in establishing standards and best practices in the development and production deployment of statistical data models
  • Experience using ML and Deep Learning frameworks such as Tensorflow, Keras or PyTorch

Why grow your career with Target AI?
  • You'll work directly on the AI/ML problems that have the most impact on Target's entire Supply Chain, Merchandising, Digital and Forecasting teams
  • We value diversity! We believe that diversity and inclusion is of core importance when we try to create positive in-store experiences for our guests, and we think it is also critically important when building our teams. Read more about our commitment to diversity and inclusion
  • We love open source! Many of our team members contribute to open source communities and get to do it during work time. We try to contribute back to our communities where we can and are grateful to be able to open source some of our own projects
