Description:
About us:

Target is an iconic brand, a Fortune 50 company and one of America's leading retailers. Working at Target means the opportunity to help all families discover the joy of everyday life. Caring for our communities is woven into who we are, and we invest in the places we collectively live, work and play. We prioritize relationships, fuel and develop talent by creating growth opportunities, and succeed as one Target team. At our core, our purpose is ingrained in who we are, what we value, and how we work. It's how we care, grow, and win together.

Right on pace with Target's distinctive and beloved retail brand.

Target's distinctive brand love is infused throughout its many physical locations by the Properties teams. We have a direct and positive impact on the real estate, design, construction and maintenance of our stores, distribution centers and headquarters. Are you ready to help strategically grow Target's brand through leading-edge design, development, construction, and preservation? Can you effectively balance the efficiencies of a large-design build company with the unique challenges and innovative solutions required by individual sites? Then take your place on one of our Properties teams and help us make the most of Target's physical assets, both in the U.S. and overseas.

A role in Store Design means the opportunity to apply your innovative and sustainable architectural/interior design and technical expertise. Your work will help define the physical experience and evolve the brand image in stores and in support of Target business strategies. You'll interpret program and scope details to integrate them with the site design and aesthetic, including new stores inside and out, exteriors and interiors, small flex formats, remodels and innovation projects.

As a Designer, you'll take the lead as you assume responsibility for design, approval, coordination, and implementation for all projects assigned with limited and/or general direction. Projects may include concepts, new stores, remodels, quality assurances checks, prototype updates and/or special assignments. You will design, produce, and document Feasibility, Schematic, and Design Development documents for all projects; as well as manage assigned projects from conception through the construction and implementation phases. Working cross functionally with Construction, Architecture, Engineering, Merchandising, Marketing, Finance, and other Target Properties team members, you will facilitate the development of project scope, schedule milestones and gather cost estimates. In this role, a strong understanding and advocacy of the Target brand and store design aesthetic is essential. You'll leverage trend information and inspiration to develop clear and compelling direction and designs. Using your skills and talents, you will create and present projects throughout the project lifecycle to project teams, leadership, and/or enterprise partners. In comprehending the nuance of both what is said and how it's said, you'll synthesize complex information and communicate the appropriate amount of details. You will create and maintain accurate numerical data on all projects and have a general understanding of financial impacts to the business.
