Work Location: Work from Home, standard or hybrid (in the office 3 or more days per week)

Position Description

This position is responsible to define and develop ITSM Configuration & Asset Management process roadmaps, drive daily end-to-end delivery of CMDB services, and provide vision of maturing processes to UCare customers.

• Lead, plan and implement process design and improvement. Drive continuous improvement of the processes and overall process maturity.

• Maintain discovery application and the integrity of the CMDB and discovery processes. Maintain the governance, policies, and direction of the CMDB

• Responsible for end-to-end hardware and software lifecycle IT Asset Management including data attributes and data relationships to the Configuration Management Database.

• Define and monitor programs purpose, objectives, scope, as well as the principles and Critical Success Factors. Ensure Key Performance Indicators are collected, analyzed, and acted upon.

• Establish ServiceNow configuration database as the source of truth for CI information and ensure users and CPI processes have access to accurate, timely and actionable data.

• Finalize data imports into the CMDB from Service Now Discovery, SCCM, etc.; rationalize, normalize and plan data cleanup where appropriate.

• Work with interfaces to provide exported data in support of external applications and utilities such as LeanIX

• Apply standard methodologies for organizing and discovering complex infrastructure environments to place them with business services into the CMDB, making valuable contributions to ITSM processes, Service Owners and customers.

• Understand concepts of asset reconciliation; ensure asset to CI relationships, asset categorization, asset types and data rules.

• Ownership for compliance and audits.

• Responsible for the discovery systems which automate the detection and identification of IP-enabled Configuration Items to help populate the CMDB and allow for additional services such as Software Asset Management.

• Monitor CMDB health and resolve conflicts between authoritative production data sources.

• Monitor & maintain Discovery MID servers with the ServiceNow Platform.

• Handle day to day activities of the process and maturing it by establishing organizational priorities for continual improvement.

• Create and maintain KPI & Metrics to improve Configuration Management effectiveness and report to team and Leadership.

• Other projects and duties as assigned.


Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business or Finance; demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Experience

Five years of overall IT experience; deploying, maintaining, implementing CMDB tool to map IT assets, hardware and application in an enterprise organization. Two years working experience with Service Now CMDB; Discovering data center inventory, relationships and business services mapping. Experience in the build and implementation of a CMDB in a complex environment; reflective of a global IT Infrastructure services organization with multiple service providers. Experience interacting directly with business leadership. Solid understanding of IT operations principles, constructs and standard methodologies. Experience running service delivery utilizing ITIL standard methodologies.
