Sr. Manager Category Manager, Target Plus

As a Sr. Category Manager for Target Plus, you are responsible for a managing a business including delivering GMV and Revenue while growing market share for your business. Using your expertise, you will bring the "art" to the "science" (intuition fueled by data and analytics) to build and grow the business. Here, you'll own a wide SKU count so that your work is varied and challenging. Through cross-functional collaboration, instinct and creativity, you will be the expert on the guest, the market and the competition.

You will build business relationships with the Target Merchandising team to deliver category strategies. You will drive the business by utilizing data to help identify assortment opportunities to grow market-share and utilizing item productivity analysis to improve conversion. As the business owner, you will working with Target Plus seller partners to fill assortment gaps and help them to drive their business by providing merchandising and marketing opportunities. You partner with your Business Analyst to develop and maintain a promotional calendar (inclusive of item list creation and management), execute event QA and report the results.

About you:

  • Four-year degree, B.S. and/or B.A.
  • 4+ years of experience in merchandising or inventory management, forecasting, and product selection (including managing and maintaining an open-to-buy and developing strong business relationships with sellers/vendors and industry leaders).
  • 3+ years managing an ecommerce business, with specific experience related to marketing and Site Experience & Optimization preferred
  • 2+ years of experience effectively leading, managing, and developing people preferred
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and outcome focused personality preferred, ability to work in an environment similar to a startup (demonstrates flexibility and resiliency; comfortable working in "grey areas" that are constantly changing)


  • Comfortable taking risks, working through change and supporting creative chances
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with strong planning and organizational skills
