R&D COMMERCIALIZATION SCIENTIST, LEAD
Milk Specialties Global has an opening based out of its corporate headquarters in Eden Prairie, Minnesota for an R&D Commercialization Scientist, Lead. Lead team of commercialization scientists to produce new commercial products and improve efficiencies in product design and manufacturing for existing company food and nutritional products. Supervise and manage the work of other commercialization scientists. Provide sustainable gains in product quality, process yield, and operational efficiency by utilizing statistical analysis, root cause analysis, design of experiments, and Customer Intelligence principles. Create and develop commercialization plans for new products and select best practices for manufacturing operations to ensure products meet safety, quality, and nutritional standards. Collaborate with business leaders to ensure trial database processes are consistent with corporate strategy. Serve as primary liaison between corporate leaders, research and development, quality assurance, and manufacturing teams to ensure production meet company needs and legal standards. Position will require some domestic travel two to three weeks a month for a few days each week to company sites in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Nebraska, and California. Full Requirements: Master's Degree or foreign equivalent degree in Food Science, Food Science and Technology, or Dairy Technology plus two (2) years of experience working with dairy proteins and dairy protein powders. Experience must also include (1) managing trials for dairy-based commercial processing; (2) generating formulas and analyzing data using what-if analysis tools (Excel Solver, Jirav, and/or iScope); (3) describing attributes of dairy properties using the Spectrum Method and/or Quantitative Descriptive Analysis; (4) working with equipment used to process whey proteins and/or dairy proteins; and (5) training operators to use machinery and equipment to optimize efficiencies and safety.
