Join our team to take new application security solutions from concept to release, collaborating with developers and security engineers to innovate on helping defend Target's network using cutting-edge technologies.

We are looking for professional developers with experience creating production-level code in Golang and preferably any JVM based language (i.e. Java, Scala, Kotlin, etc.). Our team builds incident response and detection tooling that is deployed across our environment. We work closely with our incident responders to fine tune our triage applications, and our detection teams to make improvements on our detection tools. You should have strong concurrency/parallelism knowledge and experience.

About you
  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years' of software development experience with at least one full cycle implementation
  • Demonstrates strong domain-specific knowledge regarding Security Engineering
  • Demonstrates expertise in multiple computer languages and frameworks
  • Communicates and coordinates with project team, partners, and stakeholders
  • Demonstrates expertise in analysis and optimization of systems capacity, performance, and operational health
  • Understands and develops solutions to foster data lifecycle management
  • Maintains deep technical knowledge within areas of expertise
  • Stays current with new technologies via formal training and self-directed education
  • Experience in building highly scalable distributed systems


Additional skills we are interested in:
  • Development experience in writing production code in Golang and ideally Scala (other JVM languages are okay)
  • Experience with Windows, Mac, and Linux
  • Experience with system level programming
  • Experience with concurrent/parallel programming
  • Experience with: Git, Docker
  • Database administration: Postgres


This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $97,600 to $175,700 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Target cares about and invests in you as a team member, so that you can take care of yourself and your family.
