St. Catherine University and the Facilities Department invite applications for a full-time Facilities Projects Supervisor.

Our Facilities team manages the University's operations, maintenance, environmental safety and compliance and ensures a thoughtful and pro-active approach to campus safety, facilities maintenance, and compliance with safety protocols. Department teams are called upon to effectively handle emergency/crisis situations such as severe weather and fire. Additionally, there have been a number of new protocols developed in response to the coronavirus. The Facilities Projects Supervisor strategically coordinates Facilities Management, Environmental Safety and Compliance. Responsibilities include:
  • Collaborating with facilities team members and university partners to create positive relationships and smooth working relationships.
  • Managing people, processes and systems that support Work Orders and Fleet Services.
  • Training and supervising the people who support the work order system directly and those Facilities staff and external contractors who use the tool.
  • Maintaining and improving work order process and system.
  • Managing small facilities and construction projects including visiting sites and coordinating between in house trades and external vendors.
  • Supporting a variety of planning and analysis activities to support a twenty-year facility strategic plan.
  • Establishing communication between currently siloed Facilities Management service lines to improve our ability to meet the needs of the community more efficiently.
  • Developing and managing an asset program for proper preservation of our vehicle fleet.
  • Tracking facility and space data for a variety of financial, operational and planning efforts.
  • Supporting space planning at a departmental and building level

Minimum Qualifications
  • College level degree
  • Experience working in higher education
  • Experience with Facilities Management work order systems
  • Experience dealing with difficult situations and personalities with tact and maturity
  • Knowledge of trades work and construction project management
  • Willingness to learn new software, as required to serve the role (facilities asset management tools, spreadsheet and project management tools, regulatory tools, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with St Catherine University campus
  • Experience with Service Now work order system
  • Space or facilities planning experience
  • CAD / REVIT knowledge
  • Familiarity with construction job sites
  • Knowledge of OSHA /Fire/Life Safety regulations
