Software Engineer Senior - ETL

Position Description

Design, develop, implement, test, and analyze software programs and applications. Responsible for design, delivery, support, and maintenance of data integration solutions—primarily using Informatica PowerCenter. Research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle. Analyze and amend software errors in a timely and accurate fashion and provide status reports where required. Collaborate with project leads, business analysts, end users and third party contacts to design, develop, implement and test software applications. Collaborate with other engineers, analysts, and designers in conceptualizing and developing new data integration programs and applications. Plan phases of software development life cycle (SDLC) for a variety of software development projects. Prepare and document software requirements and specifications. Research, finalize, consult, and document business, functional, technical requirements. Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades. Write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications. Run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, increasing performance through SQL tuning, and general debugging. Perform critical analysis of QA results and deliver updates to ensure excellent data quality. Generate statistics and prepare and write reports for management and/or team members on the status of the programming process. Write programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or appearance of company Web site and/or related Web applications as necessary.

Education

Requires a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or closely related field of study.

Required Experience

Qualified candidate must have at least 3 years (36 months) of software development experience working with the following tools/technologies: Informatica PowerCenter, SQL Server, and Oracle. Qualified applicant must have 3 years (36 months) of experience (a) designing, analyzing, developing and documenting ETL integrations using Informatica PowerCenter, (b) developing ETL design guidelines, standards and procedures to ensure a manageable and low support-footprint ETL infrastructure and architecture, (c) participating in technical analysis, performance tuning, preparation of effort estimation, and software upgrades and migrations, (d) providing ETL integration solutions for optimization and improvement efforts, and (e) performing analysis of Quality Assurance (QA) results to ensure data quality. All experience may be gained concurrently.
