To improve the safety, quality, delivery, and cost of Distribution operations through the application of transformative change and continuous improvement methodologies. To integrate man, machine, material, information, and technology to create and optimize processes.


  • Completes motion and time studies through physical observation on site or by reviewing video footage, segregating value added and non-value added time and identifying opportunities to eliminate waste and improve ergonomics

  • Optimizes flow, standards, and workload balance through analysis of motion and time studies, physical observation, and conversations with direct labor

  • Establish computer based productivity labor standards

  • Identifies and implements improvements in safety, quality, and efficiency

  • Utilizes simulation software to test improvements and build the business case for proposed changes

  • Documents the process though process documentation, standard work, layout, value stream maps, and flow charts

  • Communicate and promote the LEAN Methodology and Change Management associated with its strategies and performance improvement initiatives

  • Optimize current processes within the PDC through the development and implementation of improved procedures, systems, and equipment

  • Ensures the adoption of safety, process, and quality standards

  • Ensures the optimized and efficient use of resources of space, time, labor, energy and material

  • Establishes effective and efficient plan for every part attributes in support of facility goals.

  • Facilitation of lean events and audit for compliance for Lean / 5s


Works with other Industrial Engineers, Floor Operators, Quality Engineers, PDC Supervisors, and IS Professionals

Supports multiple Distribution sites


  • B.S. in Industrial Engineering

  • Minimum of two years of engineering experience in manufacturing, logistics, and/or distribution field. Experience in fast paced, high volume environments

  • High degree of self-direction and tolerance of ambiguity

  • Experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment; experience with WMS, ERP, and material handling systems preferred (SAP, Lucas, Champ)

  • Advanced skills using Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and database management

  • Technical writing

  • Ability to work effectively across levels from shop floor to Director level

  • Ability to support work at remote sites

  • Willingness to adjust working hours as necessary to ensure effective support of all shifts

  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean

  • Create CAD layouts

  • Fail Safing

  • Value Stream Mapping

  • Plan For Every Part (PFEP)

  • Concurrent Produce and Process Development (CPPD)

  • Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA)

  • Control Plans

  • Flow Charting
