A role in Inventory Management (IM) means applying your specialized and well-informed point of view to what we buy, from whom, how much, and where it needs to go from there. You'll use the right combination of data and expertise to achieve the best possible product availability through proper inventory positioning. You'll establish and develop great relationships with our vendors to encourage on-time shipment and delivery to stores and ultimately, guests.

As a Senior Inventory Manager in Meat, you will lead an IM team for categories across our product assortment. Primary functions will be to coach and develop a team of (Sr) inventory analysts to ensure out of stock and inventory goals are met, cultivate an environment where the inventory management team is encouraged to drive insights and recommendations, and serving as the voice of IM in merchant, planning, and GSCL conversations. Key skills will be expertise in inventory management systems and principals, translating data from an array of sources into insights and go-forward recommendations, consensus building and influencing at senior levels, strong communication skills, and accountability to driving exceptional results with a sense of urgency.
  • Build and develop a high performing, diverse, and engaged team.
  • Lead Inventory management team to enable sales growth through creating a faster, easier, more flexible fulfillment experience for the guest.
  • Ensure proper inventory positioning to drive availability & optimal guest experience while reducing cost to serve.
  • Lead inventory management in the merchandising division roundtable, partnering closely with Merchandising Divisional and Planning Divisional to reach division goals.
  • Coach the inventory management team in solving complex problems. This is about simplifying a problem to find the root cause, considering multiple scenarios and long-term impacts, and thinking non-traditionally to develop the right solution for the guest.
  • Build a team to have strong inventory management fundamentals and acumen. Everyone should understand how inventory management links the business to the guest.
  • Lead your inventory analysts to be operational strategists. Every decision we make should be rooted in strategy - such as knowing how it impacts the broader business, and the balance it strikes between inventory management performance and financial impact.
  • Drive for continuous improvement by streamlining processes, eliminating redundancy, and constantly evaluating effectiveness.
  • Create strong partnerships with suppliers that enable on time & in-full shipments that deliver against our reliability goals.

About you:
  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience
  • Indirect or direct team leadership with success achieving business results through that team
  • Knowledge of supply chain or inventory management principles, systems, and practical applications
  • Ability to deliver financial metrics and leverage reporting, tools and systems to drive the business forward
  • Ability to demonstrate courage, take risks and make decisions in a fast-paced complex environment
  • Experience with coaching and developing talent
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage numerous priorities effectively
  • Consensus building, influencing and negotiating at senior levels
  • Experience translating data from an array of sources into insights/go-forward recommendations
