JOB POSITION: Lead Data Analyst

LOCATION: 1000 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, MN 55403

DUTIES: Lead an agile analyst team supporting business needs by actively exploring data and sourcing it for specific use cases. Create measurable insights from data; develop metrics, reports, and statistics. Document calculations, code, and adhere to data management principles. Validate and test data sets of others as peer review. Study statistical methodologies to apply to data sets and determine the method to gather, model, manipulate and present data. Lead the performance of descriptive statistics including mean, variance, and median correlation. Train and communicate output to users to gather feedback; apply insights and testing in partnership with business. Build best practices and support agile ceremonies. Mentor and train data analysts on technical solutions. Develop metrics and insights that advance user stores via data discovery and enrichment. Use machine learning, database architecture, and data mining skills, along with SQL, R, Python, JavaScript, Scala, DOMO, Tableau, Hadoop, Hive, HTML, CSS, Command Shell programming, machine learning, database architecture, and data mining skills. Position includes a telecommute benefit within commuting distance to Minneapolis-area Target office, as directed.

REQUIREMENTS: At least a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a closely related field, and five (5) years of post-baccalaureate, progressive experience in data analysis (any title), independently leading projects and communicating directly with stakeholders/clients, engaging in statistical/data analysis to inform business or marketing decisions, creating and implementing predictive response models, developing processes for data cleaning and statistical validation, and using SQL, R, Python, HTML, CSS, and Hive. Must include 1 year working with Hadoop, Command Shell Programming, Tableau, DOMO, SAS, and Machine Learning.

In the alternative, the employer will accept at least a Masters degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a closely related field, and three (3) years of experience in data analysis (any title), independently leading projects and communicating directly with stakeholders/clients, engaging in statistical/data analysis to inform business or marketing decisions, creating and implementing predictive response models, developing processes for data cleaning and statistical validation, and using SQL, R, Python, HTML, CSS, and Hive. Must include 1 year working with Hadoop, Command Shell Programming, Tableau, DOMO, SAS, and Machine Learning.
