Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Will conduct in-person and virtual training sessions covering specific program content related to the Commercial Business. This includes but is not limited to distributor technician training, factory service schools for end-customers, and onboarding of distributor new hires.

  • The Service Trainer will coordinate shipping of equipment to training sites; schedule, setup and prepare in-person and virtual classroom spaces; and conduct trainings. While onsite or virtual, the Service Trainer will handle all computer and student problems that might arise during the class while working with site management personnel with any facility problems.

  • The Service Trainer is an extension of the Commercial division. They will promote division programs and provide appropriate program support to training participants. The trainer will positively represent both The Toro Company and Toro products to all classes.

  • Between scheduled classes during normal business hours, the Service Trainer will work on training manual preparation and improvement, curriculum development, and other training-related opportunities for Commercial students.

  • Trainer is expected to file company expense reports in a timely, accurate manner with expenses being cleared at least every two weeks. Care will be exercised to only charge valid, business expenses on company credit card. Comments should be included with each transaction to clarify the expense.

Job Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience in related industry.

Experience: At least two (2) to three (3) years prior experience in customer support or training environment.

Computer Skills: Strong technical skills in PC operating systems, applications, hardware systems, protocols, and software licenses. Extensive application support experience required with proven hardware technical planning and development. Researches, designs, and develops solutions to highly complex technical issues.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is required to sit and stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Motivated to perfection and professional in the interactions with customers and staff.

Other Job-Related Components:

  • Domestic and/or international travel required up to 70% percent of the time.
