Product Evaluation/Test Engineering Manager
The Product Evaluation/Test Engineering Manager is responsible for the management of all aspects of the product evaluation engineering team ensuring engineering projects are appropriately evaluated, documented, and certified.
This leadership role will assist in administration of the product evaluation budget and provide oversight for 20+ technical and professional personnel.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Plan, develop, submit, monitor, and manage operating and capital budgets to assure the necessary Product Evaluation resources are available for current and future project support as required in a cost effective manner.
Review design engineering project plans to ensure completeness, prototype availability, and adequate time for product evaluation.
Communicate with project leaders and engineering managers regarding workload forecasts to ensure project execution and timeliness to maintain enterprise consistency.
Identify and ensure execution of special projects to support engineering teams, dealers, distributors, and end user customers.
Ensure all new models have completed all required safety certification testing and all documentation is complete and adequately stored prior to model release and as models are updated or safety standards change after model release.
Manage assigned resources to complete approved projects in support of goals and objectives.
Coach and lead subordinates in their own personal development, providing resources and opportunities.
Conduct performance appraisals and salary reviews in accordance with policy.
Set, cascade, and monitor team objectives.
Select, train, and supervise Product Evaluation Test Engineering staff.
Develop, implement, and administrate Product Evaluation engineering guidelines, polices, and procedures to ensure efficient operation and control of Product Evaluation engineering.
Lead the definition, planning, and execution of project test plans to ensure the scope is clearly defined, risks are appropriately identified, and resources are available to accomplish.
Provide other engineering systems support and technical assistance as required.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Build teamwork between Product Design Teams and Product Evaluation Test Engineers.
Performs other duties as required.
B.S. degree or equivalent in applicable engineering discipline. Advanced degree and/or Professional Engineer Certification a plus
6 to 12 years progressive engineering experience, including 2+ years supervising professional employees in appropriate engineering discipline.
Successfully managed engineers who lead other engineers.
Has demonstrated exceptionally high level of competency in creativity, productivity and decision making over an extended period of time through successful completion of multiple projects.
Strong mechanical and technical aptitude with knowledge of mechatronics applications.
MS Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) experience.
Experience in agronomy and/or turf care business is desirable.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
