Otter Tail Power Company will be replacing our electric meter fleet with an Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system consisting of smart meters and a Meter Data Management (MDM) computer system. This effort provides an opportunity for an individual to join our team as a Meter Data Management (MDM) Analyst in Fergus Falls, MN.

In this position, the successful candidate will be part of the development, deployment, and ongoing operations of the MDM component of the AMI system. Because this is a new position, the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to help form this position.

During the deployment of the AMI system, the MDM Analyst will, with assistance from others, set up the MDM application and perform initial and ongoing system oversight and adjustments. Post deployment, the role will oversee the MDM, manage system alerts, perform analysis on electric power data and produce reports for use by engineering, operations, and customer service. The role will be the MDM expert, will monitor the MDM and update MDM parameters to ensure it provides value added information to support our customer needs and our company objectives. This role will then provide guidance to others to resolve issues and improve performance.

We are seeking a person that has strong computer skills, is a self-starter and applies critical thinking. We prefer a candidate with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent training and experience in Metering Data Management (MDM) Systems and overall AMI systems, data analytics or a closely related field. Highly desirable to have experience in the electric utility industry with computer systems or data analysis skills. Knowledge of electrical meters and electrical distribution systems and operations is preferred. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills; the ability to develop programming skills, reporting and problem-solving skills; and analytical and time management skills. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply if you meet the must have criteria.

We offer a competitive wage and benefit package. To apply, visit our careers page at www.otpco.com. Applications accepted through November 8, 2021.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.
