As the Director, Design & Development for Talent and Change, you will lead a team of 14+ designers that are responsible for creating content, experiences, programs and trainings for Target's Learning & Development, Talent Management, Team Member Experience, Culture & Change functions. You will focus on developing skills, modalities, media and content in support of world-class learning and development solutions inclusive of (not limited to) instructional design, eLearning development, experience design, program design, visual design, voice, content design, media design and development. As a collaborative leader and trusted advisor, you'll work as a part of a cross-functional team that translates business needs into impactful learning and developmental experiences. Additionally you will:
  • Lead a team of expert designers and manage resource capacity and planning
  • Work at scale by thinking globally and applying creative, inclusive and sustainable principles & practices
  • Consult with Client Engagement teams and Centers of Excellence to diagnose business needs and match or design learning and development solutions to help adopt new behaviors, capabilities and skills needed for business success
  • Influence technology solutions, product strategy and user/learner-centered design
  • Drive for continuous improvement and maintain positivity, flexibility and care for all stakeholders

About You:
  • 8+ years of demonstratable experience in roles such as human resources, learning & development, instructional design, human-centered design, talent management or culture
  • Marketing, creative, design or branding leadership and experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated success in leading, engaging and developing broad-based collaborative team(s) through coaching, recognition, empowerment and care
  • Ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously in a spontaneous, fast-paced environment - including ruthless prioritization, project management and masterful stakeholder management
  • Successful track record in implementing innovative and complex, multi-unit, multi-audience learning, development and/or change management programs
  • Experience in adult learning principles, learning design and theories
  • A growth mindset (resiliency, curiosity, enthusiasm for the future, bias for action)
  • Comfortable taking risks, driving change and supporting creativity
  • Understanding of Target's HR, Marketing & Communications ecosystem preferred
