As a Senior Engineer, you serve as a specialist in the engineering team that supports the product. You would have the knowledge to evaluate embedded device feasibility, the ability to work with other teams to evaluate use cases and define requirements, interact with vendors, and advise the organization on the abilities of preexisting devices, ability to build prototypes where no vendor solutions exist. You show good problem-solving skills and can help the team in triaging operational issues. You leverage your expertise in eliminating repeat occurrences.

Use your technology acumen to apply and maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies within specialized area(s) of the technology domain. Evaluate new technologies and participate in decision-making, accounting for several factors such as viability within Target's technical environment, maintainability, and cost of ownership. Initiate and execute research and proof-of-concept activities for new technologies. Manage total product, financials, and forecasting. Lead the hardware design both mechanical and electrical, develop device prototypes, partner with Target teams to test the prototypes, partner with production vendors to manufacture the prototyped device at scale, conduct device evaluations, serve as advisor for IoT users in making Buy vs Mod vs Build decisions. Provide technical oversight and coach others to resolve complex and severe technical issues. Core responsibilities of this job are described within this job description. About you:

• 4-year degree or equivalent experience

• 5+ years of Hardware design and development experience

• Demonstrates strong domain-specific knowledge regarding Target's technology capabilities, and key competitors' products and differentiating features

• Working knowledge PCBA & CAD using tools such as Solid Works/Eagle

• Demonstrates strong proficiency in & digital & analog circuit design

• Builds strong commitment within the team to support the appropriate team priorities

• Demonstrates a solid understanding of the impact of own work on the team and/or guests

• Maintains technical knowledge within areas of expertise

• Stays current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education
