This position is responsible for leading the strategy and Land Rights and Permitting team to successfully develop and execute on the plan for securing and maintaining the Company’s complex land and permitting activities. These activities range from routine transmission and distribution projects to supporting resource siting additions and/or large multi-state transmission projects.  We are looking for a talented Manger with experience in successfully inspiring and leading a team with competing priorities while having demonstrated experience and knowledge to actively engage and direct all land and related permitting activities and challenges. 

We are looking for a minimum of 5 years’ experience with land and right-of-way acquisition, real estate, title research, utility coordination, relocation, and property management. A professional degree is preferred, with consideration given to a combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, or a related field or area of expertise.  Applicant must have demonstrated experience with federal, state and local agencies, private industry and landowners to facilitate the acquisition of necessary right of way and a proven ability to deal effectively and efficiently with property owners or agencies and protect confidentiality. Applicant should have effective organizational and management experience successfully leading teams.  Possess knowledge and experience in title research including the ability to read, review and understand right of way plans and legal descriptions.

The skills that we are seeking for joining our innovative team include strong oral and written communication, computer, decision-making, leadership, and time management skills. This position requires travel throughout Otter Tail Power Company service territory.
