Working within Tax, your mission will be to drive value-added work and support our core retail business goals. Our tax team focuses on all aspects of tax reporting including enhancing productivity and efficiency of core compliance through process and technology, monitoring tax risk and opportunities across all tax disciplines, engaging and educating Finance and the broader organization regarding tax considerations, and prioritizing team resources to support key work streams.

As a Senior Systems Analyst in Tax you will be responsible for system analyst functions for Vertex O Series supporting all sales tax configuration and testing; work closely with Target business partners and product teams to support business questions and analysis relating to Vertex O Series; help collect, analyze and reconcile data for core compliance processes, reporting, audit requests; assist in documenting and automating core work processes using Alteryx.

In this role, you will leverage your systems expertise, critical thinking, problem solving, and business process knowledge while working on a wide range of strategic priorities. You will help Tax develop analytical skills to glean insights from data. You will foster your personal development by remaining curious about Tax, industry trends and emerging risks, gaining unique experiences supporting a meaningful career. About you:
  • Undergraduate Degree - preferably in Information Technology, Accounting, Finance or Business related area
  • Minimum 2 year using and configuring Vertex O Series or Sales Tax software
  • Background in sales tax with a public accounting firm or equivalent experience in a large corporation
  • Demonstrates understanding and capabilities using data and analytical tools including Excel, Alteryx and data visualization tools (Tableau, Domo, Power BI)
  • Has strong analytical and communication skills
  • Experience with Vertex Returns, SAP, other tax software and general ledger system, is preferred
