A role on the Network Strategy Team within Food Supply Chain means being relentlessly focused on how we can optimize our temperature-controlled network to become more cost effective and improve the guest experience. Our teams work with the agility our mission requires, and we constantly come together to implement new processes in record time. We're looking for exceptional people who are proactive, creative, independent, innovative, risk-savvy and comfortable working in varying degrees of ambiguity. You will work cross-functionally with experts from across F&B, GSCL, Technology and Stores to support the implementation of new distribution nodes, helping to define our future network design; you'll also be actively engaged in developing solutions alongside experts from across the organization including Field Operations, Operating Solutions Design, Store Operations, TTS, Inventory Management and Data Science.

As a Director F&B Supply Chain - Project Management, you will be responsible for supporting the strategic growth of Target's distribution network by developing and leading a team of Sr Project Managers tasked with opening new nodes. This role will coordinate across multiple enterprise functions to operationalize replenishment points on-time to best support our guest experience. It is an ideal opportunity to work within a highly collaborative, cross functional team managing across leadership and operational teams in support of your objective. You will partner with Director, Senior Director, VP+ leaders, on a daily basis, to lead, support, and influence alignment across F&B, GSCL, and TTS teams; aligning on cohesive methodologies to scope deliverables, amplify resources, and achieve timelines successfully will be imperative in this role. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • You will lead the physical activation of projects in support of the transformation of the Target Supply Chain, responsible for delivering project scope on time and on budget.
  • Create an environment where Team Members can develop their skills and grow their careers through taking on increased responsibility and adding value to the organization. Mentor peers and junior team members on business processes, storytelling, and influencing peers and leaders
  • Work with cross organizational teams to develop project plans based on engineering project lifecycle phases
  • Provide project level inputs to cross functional teams and program management
  • Lead the management of all project documentation and provide regular and accurate status updates with attention to details
  • Lead cross organizational efforts to deliver a consistent customer experience for project management and delivery.


About you:
  • 7 or more years of combined experience in material handling, automation, manufacturing, supply chain and/or distribution and logistics industries
  • Proven project management experience implementing multi-million dollar, complex capital equipment & systems.
  • Ability to quickly connect and build relationships across leaders and organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with and influence senior leaders
  • Develop & proliferate repeatable, internal tools & templates to assist with scheduling, budgeting, tracking & managing projects
  • Troubleshoot, resolve, & escalate installation issues quickly & effectively
  • Lead reviews of the "lessons learned" throughout the program development process
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage several complex projects at the same time with high degrees of variation and uncertainty.
  • Candidate must be capable to work with little or no supervision or direction and will be given considerable latitude in decision making.
  • Natural ability to speak and write effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent judgment and decision making skills under conditions of exceptional uncertainty with possibility of significant lack of data.
  • Frequently provides significant leadership or influence as a coordinator of complex cross-functional projects.
  • Proficiency with standard project planning software applications.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% (varies by project phase).


Preferred Qualifications & Experiences
  • Familiarity with material flow methodologies
  • Experience with facility layouts, & construction
  • Experience with distribution and/or logistics process flows & operations
  • Experience with lean, six sigma, & other continuous improvement concepts & methodologies
  • Project management professional "PMP" training
