Job Purpose:

This Tax Analyst/Sr. Tax Analyst role within the tax team will be a key contributor in the execution of domestic income tax compliance and drive value to the enterprise through tax planning projects. As a member of a global tax department, this role will provide exposure to all areas of domestic and foreign taxes. In order to be successful, the individual must have a continuous improvement mindset and proactively seek out opportunities to standardize processes and systems. This person must have a positive attitude, be a team player with strong communication skills and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, change-oriented environment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare US federal and state income tax compliance filings, calculations and supporting workpapers, while applying analytics to identify key drivers for variances.

  • Forecast and compute quarterly tax provisions, including reconciliation of tax accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial statement presentation.

  • Assist with computing quarterly US Federal and state estimated income tax payments.

  • Partner with tax management and other key stakeholders on special projects, tax planning, audit defense and process improvement.

  • Support analytical decision-making on key strategic initiatives by developing data-driven solutions.

  • Learn and support current BI solutions to enhance automation, analytics, and reporting.

  • Assist in preparing Toro’s U.S. international income tax compliance, including Form 5471’s and foreign branch/partnership filings, and transfer pricing to ensure arm’s-length intercompany transactions.

  • Collaborate with tax team on international and indirect tax projects, as needed.

  • Build and maintain healthy working relationships with team members and internal business partners.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; CPA required; MBT a plus (earned or in progress).

  • Must have experience with federal and multi-state income tax compliance.

  • Previous Big 4 or large national firm public accounting experience required.

  • ASC 740 income tax accounting skills and experience with global tax provisions a plus.

  • Strong domestic income tax technical skills and solid tax research skills.

  • Must be proficient with technology, with an ability to apply technology tools to improve processes.

  • Must be curious and maintain a passion for learning. Must be able to grasp difficult concepts quickly.

  • Team player – must have the ability to understand the big picture, yet dig into the details and help the team in any way needed.

  • Confident verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate complex tax matters to non-tax professionals and partner with the business.

  • Proven project management and organizational skills, with a bias toward action and the ability to keep multiple projects moving simultaneously.

  • Collaborate with employees at all levels of the organization to support the business, drive tax strategy, and ensure efficient/effective tax processes.

  • Limited travel required (less than 5%).
