Goodhue County processes its information through an intricate network of personal computers, servers, firewalls, and switches. The IT Department manages the processing of all information through the network which includes monitoring performance, backing up data, troubleshooting issues, and implementing new and updated systems. The IT Department supports all county employees in the use of technology from email and spreadsheets, to complex databases requiring state and federal security.

Job Summary: The IT Network Security Analyst’s primary objective is to proactively design, implement, monitor, and maintain solutions to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and access to data on various networks. This position focuses on network security and works closely with other technical staff, County departments, and affiliated entities to identify security needs and mitigate risks. This position also provides additional support for the design, maintenance, and expansion of critical network infrastructure. Work is generally performed in the office; however, there are some possibilities for limited remote work. This is a shared position providing service to Goodhue County, the City of Red Wing, and Red Wing Public Schools.
Minimum Requirements: Four-year degree in Computer Science, or related field, with an emphasis on cybersecurity, or a combination of education and experience equivalent to four years of increasingly advanced experience implementing, managing, and supporting enterprise class security systems and applications.
