Working within Risk Management, your mission will be to leverage your expertise to balance proactive protection and real-time mitigation of risks. Our team, including Claims, Insurance, Finance, and Safety allows for a well-rounded approach to managing risk across all operations. We serve our organization and guests with solutions that create value, mitigate risk, influence and enable the business while ensuring compliance

As a Director Supply Chain Safety, you will develop and lead teams to ensure compliance, support, and continuous innovation in Global Supply Chain Safety in pursuit of building a safer place to work and shop at Target. Drive efforts that improve the safety frequency results via proactive protection and real-time mitigation. Lead teams to problem solve safety defects and to develop/implement counter measures improve team frequency. Leverage 6SIGMA tools and other resources as appropriate. Collaborate closely with Global Supply Chain operations, Global Supply Chain leadership, Finance, Engineering and Facilities, Risk Management, Human Resources, and other partners to ensure deployment safety projects. You will be able to influence senior leadership regarding execution, improvements, and innovations necessary to improve Target safety while driving efficiency and minimizing waste. You will deliver on our safety vision with a preventative focus on the care and compassion of our Team Members. By directing, coaching, and onboarding of Safety experts reporting into the role, you will soar with your expert and leadership abilities to influence the total supply chain organization. Through your team, you will develop and deploy an end-to-end Safety strategy for the GSCL organization.

About You:

  • Bachelor's Degree B.A. /B.S.
  • Industry expertise, Proven Leadership, or related field
  • Certified Safety Professional, CSP, MBA
  • Proven problem solving and analytical skills (root cause critical thinking)
  • Excellent relationship building, collaboration, and communication skills both written and verbal


  • Safety Expertise or experience in Supply Chain, automation, or manufacturing experience
  • Proven knowledge and use in Microsoft products
  • Ability to travel as required


This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.
