The Cyber Fusion Center is the heart of Target's security team and a place where innovation happens daily. Join our team to innovate and take new enterprise security solutions from concept to release, collaborating with both software & security engineers. We are looking for engineers with experience creating production-level code in at least one of the following: Java, Python, JavaScript. You will build tooling to expand our ability to track and respond to cyber threats while working closely with world-class engineers, intelligence analysts, and incident responders to protect Target. Experience in Cybersecurity is a plus, and not required.

Use your technology acumen to apply and maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies within specialized area(s) of the technology domain. Evaluate new technologies and participate in decision-making, accounting for several factors such as viability within Target's technical environment, maintainability, and cost of ownership. Initiate and execute research and proof-of-concept activities for new technologies. Lead the design, lifecycle management, and total cost of ownership of services. Provide technical oversight and coach others to improve application quality and resolve complex technical issues. Lead functional design and architecture discussions with understanding of process flows and system diagrams to enable design decisions. Participate in routine and non-routine construction, automation, and implementation activities, ensuring successful implementation with architectural and operational requirements and best practices in mind.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of software development experience with at least one full cycle implementation from requirement to production.
  • Production level code in Java, Python, and/or JavaScript.
  • Strong problem solving and thought partnership skills.
  • Demonstrated sense of ownership and the ability to work with a limited set of requirements. Good verbal and written communication skills.


Additional skills we are interested in:

  • Development experience in any of the following: Node.js, React, Vue, Go, Typescript, SQL
  • Experience with Unix/Linux administration, Container Orchestration
  • Experience with ElasticSearch, Redis, Kafka
  • Experience with Database administration: Postgres


*This role is scheduled for a "hybrid" work environment. "Hybrid" for this role is a combination of remote work and onsite work. Onsite work will be located at our Target corporate offices located in Brooklyn Park, MN. Onsite requirement will be approximately one day per month.
