Store Operations manages and enhances the informational resources for researching and resolving operational issues, while guiding and communicating with the field team and leaders who use them. A role within Remodel, Small Format, and New Store Operations means a big opportunity to continuously improve the how new stores come to life and how remodels modernize and enhance the guest experience in stores.

As the Lead Business Partner - Store Operations - Small Format, you will:
  • Own and support Small Format sales floor processes and operations for Apparel and Accessories, Home, Essentials and Beauty, and Food and Beverage; supporting and consulting across teams on Transitions, Special Projects, LTOs, Assortment, Planogram and Adjacency, Ad Strategy & Promos, Visual Merchandising, Pricing, ISM, and Fixtures as they relate to Small Formats.
  • Provide high touch support and resolution for Small Format issues related to your area of ownership, by liaising between the field and HQ to root cause problems and work through operationalizing solutions
  • Use your talents and experience to serve as a Small Format process expert, project manager and primary representative of Stores and Store Operations in cross functional meetings
  • Act as the primary representative of Stores and Store Operations in sales floor meetings and manage Small Format support or projects related to your area by influencing timing and store selection, support in the creation of field communication, and managing store implementation.
  • Lead/Coordinate store visits with field leaders and partner teams to problem solve, assess and identify success or opportunities related to your sales floor business area; solicit store feedback, and facilitate necessary follow-up and support.
  • Drive operational improvement in Small Format stores by updating processes, improving operational efficiency, elevating the guest experience and increasing profitable sales.
  • Establish comprehensive project plans and hold partners accountable to ensure all deadlines are met including: store communication, updating online tools and tracking mechanisms and data sets, and providing information to partners.
  • Use data, insights and research to develop plans and make business decisions for Small Format stores.
  • Maintain close contact with the field team to understand operational opportunities and solicit feedback on a consistent basis.
  • Act as a store advocate, escalating questions and concerns to key stakeholders, and seeking resolution for stores.
  • Play a key role in Small Format leadership training, including New Store Director Training, and routine training of new leaders across the field as they onboard to Small Format stores.
  • Pursue opportunities for continuous business development and innovation.
  • Build understanding of the external landscape and identifies trends in the industry that impact Store Operations and Target initiatives
  • Champion Target's Purpose, Beliefs, and Behaviors across teams and while delivering upon business opportunities

About You:
  • Four-year degree or equivalent work experience
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience
  • Ability to build strategic vision and drive organizational change
  • Experience influencing key business partners, including senior leadership, without authority
  • Experience identifying root cause through strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Project and process management/ownership experience
  • Ability to operate in an ambiguous and rapidly changing work environment
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction
  • Ability to work in high intensity situations with tight deadlines
  • Ability to establish and maintain cross-functional working relationships across the enterprise
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to negotiate effectively and manage conflicting priorities or points of view
  • Ability to challenge the status quo, and resolve problems without clear precedent
  • Experience building and maintaining cross-functional working relationships
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Desired previous stores experience


This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $81,300 to $146,400. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Target cares about and invests in you as a team member, so that you can take care of yourself and your family.
