As a Senior Engineering Manager on the Mobile Apps - iOS Platform team, you will lead a team of talented iOS engineers who enjoy tackling big problems in a large and complex iOS
codebase. This team is continually assessing new iOS technologies and building on our vision for keeping Target's flagship iOS app stable, fast, and a joy for others to code in, and gets joy in knowing other iOS engineers can do their job more effectively due to their contributions. Responsibilities:
  • Lead the team to drive initiatives from idea formulation to design and implementation by following best practices in developing iOS apps at scale on large, distributed teams, including modular app architecture, frameworks, build pipeline, on-prem and cloud
  • CI/CD, testing, observability, etc.
  • Provide vision, set technical direction, and lead the team to achieve it.
  • Use both qualitative and quantitative metrics to set priorities and measure effectiveness.
  • Participate in essential technical, design, and product discussions with teams across the organization.


  • Manage cross-product technical dependencies and drive resolutions to conflicts.
  • Instill a spirit of continuous improvement in the team's patterns, practices, and processes.
  • Build and maintain a strong, healthy, and diverse team through hiring, mentoring, and coaching.


Requirements:
  • 8+ years of software development experience in an Agile environment.
  • 2+ years of experience leading, coaching, and mentoring mobile development teams with a strong track record of project delivery for large, cross-functional projects.
  • Experience building native iOS apps, with in-depth knowledge of native tools and frameworks (e.g., Swift, UIKit, Xcode, Instruments, etc.).
  • Strong hands-on skills. Can drill deep into the complex system design and implementation when needed.
  • Experience in managing customer-facing applications through reliability and resiliency fundamentals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences


This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $97,600 to $175,700. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Target cares about and invests in you as a team member, so that you can take care of yourself and your family.
