JOB POSITION: Senior Engineer

LOCATION: 1000 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, MN 55403

DUTIES: Define the software architecture and design of various components; develop, design, and implement application components using microservices architecture; brainstorm design considerations for implementing the non-functional requirements; develop RESTful services using Spring to retrieve data from upstream applications; design and implement the database schemas; implement authentication and develop messaging components; write unit test cases, integration, functional test cases and generating code coverage analysis for the code developed; deploy the application to server instances on Cloud; build the application, deploy the application and manage the application across dev, non-production, and production; validate the overall system functionality to meet business needs; continuously improving the code quality and make performance improvements; analyze and fix defects found by business users; create effective log monitoring; and train/support the business teams to help understand the product usage. Tools/technologies used: JDK, Groovy, Linux, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring REST, Spring Data JPA, Spring AOP, Caching, Spring Test suite, Retrofit, SOAP, Apache Camel, Tomcat, Kafka, MongoDB, Cassandra, PostgreSQL, web services, Java, J2EE, Hibernate, Unix Shell Scripts, SQL, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, Oracle, JUnit, Spock, Gradle, Docker, Kubernetes, Grafana, Kibana, Rundeck, and ReactJS. REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Master's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and at least three (3) years of experience in software engineering (any title) designing, building, and maintaining applications and at least two (2) years of experience using Spring (Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, and Spring AOP), SOAP, REST, Hibernate, Unix Shell Scripts, SQL, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, JDK, Linux, JUnit, and ReactJS. Position includes a telecommute benefit within commuting distance to Minneapolis-area Target office, as directed.
