A role in Global Inventory Management (GIM) means applying your specialized and well-informed point of view to what we buy, from whom, how much and where it needs to go from there. You'll use the right combination of data and expertise to achieve the best possible product availability through proper inventory positioning. You'll also focus on the efficient transportation of product around the world, while ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and achieving the best possible product availability through proper inventory positioning. You'll not only establish and develop great relationships with our vendors to encourage on-time shipment and delivery to stores and ultimately guests, but you'll also analyze transportation supplier capabilities and contracts for maximum speed, reliability and cost effectiveness.

As the Sr. Manager for Seasonal Events, you will be responsible for leading the inventory management strategies to support Back to School, Back to College, Q4, Mini-Seasons, and Company Space. You will collaborate closely with partners from across the organization inclusive of Sales & Operations Planning, Field Operations, Network Planning, Inventory Management, Merchandising, Planning, and Store Operations to manage each season in support of our stores and our guests. This work includes development of inventory strategies inclusive of proper investment and placement decisions, complete GSCL and Store Operations alignment on key freight positioning and movement, and the creation and monitoring of key company best methods in support of Seasons.

Additional responsibilities include:
  • Build and develop a high performing, diverse, inclusive and engaged team.
  • Oversee the Back to School and Back to College seasons to ensure proper inventory investment, placement, flow strategies, and seasonal support are in place to deliver upon our operational and guest needs.
  • Develop, oversee, and lead the Q4 planning and execution for Inventory Management inclusive of end-to-end supply chain considerations and collaboration to ensure product is smoothly moved from vendor to stores in time to meet peak demand.
  • Ensure Inventory Management is setup for success within high priority Mini-Seasons through solid execution and adherence to Mini-Seasonal Inventory Management Best Methods.
  • Oversee Company Space & Salesplan best methods in support of our stores and guest.
  • Define product/technology business case requirements to support Seasonal Event planning and executional needs.
  • Play an active role in developing a roadmap of operational intelligence needs to support each Season.

  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of team leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of supply chain and inventory management fundamentals, systems, and practical applications.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion.

  • Strong data analytics skills with a drive to continue to dig until a root cause is identified.

This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $81,300 to $146,400.
