A role in External Financial Reporting calls on your skills for quality financial reporting, accurate financials, and technical accounting while providing thoughtful and responsive support, expertise, and guidance to business partners.

As a Senior Accountant - External Financial Reporting, you will:

• Prepare journal entries, reporting, and external financial statement disclosures related to treasury, debt, and derivative activities
• Work closely with the Treasury department on projects and initiatives to assess accounting impacts
• Perform accounting research and interpret guidance to determine implications on internal and external financial reporting
• Work with internal and external audit teams to complete their procedures related to internal controls and financial reporting
• Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A to shareholders and the SEC
• Develop, propose, and implement improvements to increase efficiency in accounting processes and reporting
• Coordinate/undertake special projects as assigned
• Leverage technology and other resources to improve processes or automate tasks

About you:

• Four-year degree in Accounting and 3-6 years of related experience
• CPA or similar designation
• Strong knowledge of the requirements of GAAP accounting standards and SOX requirements
• Strong project management skills
• Experience with process improvement and automation
• Strong technical and analytical aptitude translating accounting guidance into practical business advice
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong digital acumen

This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $62,500 - $112,500.
