As a Lead Project Manager, you will manage technology projects directly related to Target's strategic priorities. See your efforts come to fruition in Target Stores, Distribution Centers, and Headquarters locations by assembling project plans and teamwork assignments, monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality reviews, and escalating functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately. Use your strong analytical skills to ensure project delivery is on time and within budget while communicating milestones and risks to business partners and technology product owners. We'll support you along the way with robust onboarding, as well as personal and career development, to help you grow as a strong Lead Project Manager. The exciting part of retail technology? As a Lead Project Manager in Production Engineering, you will take the lead as you:
  • Provide the project management function for the initiatives that orchestrate and deliver on the key tenets of reliability These are the tenets that enable Target Tech to deliver on our strategy to do the following:
    • Get code into production
    • Manage code in production
    • Accelerate performance and efficiency
    • Drive our response and incident management programs, and the programs on how we learn from failures and prevent future risk. This includes how we transform how we measure progress through the metrics that matter.
  • Create the mechanisms necessary to work across Target Tech to ensure product teams have visibility to the information they need to and can react quickly to emergent constraints or business needs.
  • Connect with your peers and partners on the overall program, working with product owners and stakeholders alike to deliver results that matter.

About You:
  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of technical project management experience
  • Deep knowledge of project management tools, resource and financial best practices, and methodologies (e.g., waterfall and agile)
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, and developing rising talent in the technology department
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills and experience establishing guidelines in these areas for others
  • Strong sense of personal accountability regarding decision-making and supervising department teams
  • Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality
  • Managerial experience applying analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to predict challenges and seek to proactively head-off obstacles
