The mission of the Small Format and Localization team in Merchandising is to drive growth for Target by creating and scaling locally relevant merchandising solutions. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the enterprise localization strategy. The team is responsible for everything from ensuring stores have apparel that is climate appropriate, to leading Multicultural Assortment strategy across the Enterprise, to curating locally relevant Small Format store merchandising.

As a Small Format Buyer on the Small Formats and Localization Team, you'll operate at Pyramid level scope to support the Small Format Sr. Buyer on strategy development and lead the Associate Buyer on assortment analysis & execution. You will meet unique and local guest needs through establishing and documenting sustainable assortment build processes to activate chain and small format segmentation strategies. This includes analyzing existing store performance, trip mission information, and guest demographic data to help inform core merchants on the unique needs of our small formats based on store cluster and floorpad size.

The Buyer also plays a critical role in translating broader Enterprise and Category Segmentation merchandising strategies into smaller spaces while also providing visibility to core merchandising on potential white space assortment opportunities. This role will further support the Associate Buyer in developing specific direction on POG build to ensure strategies can be proofed and audited against assortment health metrics.

Additionally, you'll collaborate with multiple cross-functional partners with the goal of delivering outstanding sales and profit performance and developing sustainable processes for long-term scalability of small format stores. Partnerships include: Store Operations to incorporate field team assortment feedback, Space & Presentation to ensure merchandise strategies are aligned to space, Inventory Management Operations to ensure on shelf product availability, and Category Management teams for POG build.

About You:
  • 2+ years merchandising experience preferred
  • A four-year degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong financial, strategic, and planning skills
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with strong analytical, decision-making, and organization skills
  • A performance-driven individual who demonstrates strong initiative and has superior leadership skills
  • Flexibility and resiliency; comfortable working in "grey areas" that are constantly changing
  • Comfortable taking risks and leading through change

This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $62,500 to $112,500.
