PRIMARY FUNCTION
Drive the trim development process from research through production including, but not limited to trim development, testing, costing, planning, and sourcing for assigned owned brand line or business segments. Under the direction of the trim development team, coordinates research and development process for assigned trim development projects. Has a working knowledge of trims to support Owned Brand design, Sourcing, and Responsible sourcing. Proactively collaborates with cross functional team and global trim office to continuously drive and enhance trim development process. Supports trim supplier transparency. Assists the team in coordinating trim workload and supports trim feasibility based on calendar timing and viability for product.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with designers, Technical Designers and marketing/brand teams for trim development assuring calendar adherence and acceptable level of service.
- Understand and communicate Target's quality, expectations, business initiatives, product functional requirements and performance expectations to support trim development.
- Work with trim developers to provide support when needed; may own a portion of a special project or business.
- Work in product development system to support development, approvals, and system updates.
- Evaluates trim submits for color, size, quality.
- Hold trim matrix suppliers and business partners accountable to Targets trim standard and expectations in production.
- Makes recommendations to refine and drive efficiencies in trim development and trim matrix supplier process, as appropriate.
- Partner to develop and train trim process to internal and external teams to clarify and support trim development and trim supplier expectations
- Elevate supplier performance and develop a working knowledge of trim matrix suppliers and trim matrix capabilities.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of industry-leading trim development, trim quality expectations and facility manufacturing practices for trim, knowledge of trim development systems.
- Identifying/pilot innovative solutions and drive efficiencies for trim development selection with design/technical teams and trim suppliers.
- Drive supplier elevation and trim supplier performance by actively developing a working knowledge of Business Partner capabilities.
- Evaluate and recommend trim options to support a consistent guest experience. Provide trim recommendations to support Target sustainability and supply chain transparency goals.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 4-year college degree in fashion merchandising, design or apparel production; manufacturing or industrial engineering; or product development related degree.
- Minimum 1-2 years' experience.
- Technical knowledge of product development process.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office. Adobe and Outlook skills are preferred but not required.
- Must be comfortable with computer work and learning new programs.
