The mission of the Small Format and Localization Team in Merchandising is to develop guest relevant segmentation strategies that unlock a connected & inclusive guest experience. The team is responsible for ensuring stores have apparel that is climate appropriate, leads the Enterprise Multicultural segmentation strategies, and supports Merchants to curate merchandising solutions for our Small Format stores.

As a Project Lead for the Small Format Localization Team, you will support coordinated efforts underway to heighten visibility and alignment to Enterprise Segmentation while orchestrating efforts that deliver against Enterprise outcomes. In your role, you ensure consistency in approach is achieved with tools, processes, and routines to confirm alignment with key partners and sustainability of work over time.

The Project Lead will play a critical role developing, refining, and implementing SFL strategies in the following ways:

Strategy Development:
  • Partner with the Director of SFL Strategy & Special Projects and SFL leadership team to lead strategy development and prioritization. You will build and maintain SFL's 5-year vision roadmap and annual and quarterly implementation plans by synthesizing data, insights, and feedback across SFL and with other key partners.
  • Support programs across SFL to bring the Segmentation vision to life supporting cross team facilitation, prioritization and alignment of deliverables, resources, project plans, and dependencies.
  • Develop and implement a project calendar and communication plan for enterprise partners to understand, engage with, and help execute SFL's Vision.
  • Establish routines that connect into Merch Capability and Enterprise routines (e.g. QSD, QBP)
  • Support the SFL Leadership Team with critical, ad hoc initiatives
  • Work closely with SFL peers and CFT Partners in Capabilities, Stores and Properties


Project Team Support:
  • Partner with project team and stakeholders with leadership on the highest priority projects to support definition of project requirements, constraints, and assumptions in order to establish the project deliverables, resources needed, and timelines, ultimately holding partners accountable to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Initially working with a cross functional team to manage multiple projects that will update and modernize current Segmentation processes and solutions.
  • You will drive synergy through detailed, cross functional coordination of activities across strategic initiatives by aligning all project facets in proper sequence to deliver and sustain performance.
  • Coordinate, support, and lead both small and large working sessions with partners and stakeholders that drive to conclusions, agreement, and outcomes.
  • You will identify and address key decisions, risks and messages for leadership alignment.

About You:
  • Four-year degree or equivalent work experience
  • 6+ years previous merchandising, consulting or operations experience Cultural competency with personal DE&I commitments
  • Big picture, strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to shape and operationalize complex strategies across key stakeholder groups
  • Ability to solve complex, multi-faceted problems
  • A performance-driven individual who demonstrates strong initiative and has superior leadership skills

  • Flexibility, resiliency & nimbleness; comfort working in "grey areas" that are constantly changing
