CODING SUPERVISOR

Work Location: Standard or hybrid

The health and safety of our employees, members, providers, and our community is our highest priority. Position Description

This position is responsible for direct supervision of the CCO Coding Analyst staff. Interview, train, develop, coach and mentor individual team members. Ensure claims are coded and processed accurately, and support work is completed timely and in compliance with regulations, provider contracts and member benefits as specified in the member contract/evidence of coverage. Engage and collaborate with Configuration and Claims Operations (CCO) services teams and other departments to respond to service requests, triage and troubleshoot post-implementation issues.

• Recruit, interview and select team members. Monitor daily schedules and workflow. Monitor team audit results and work with individual team members to improve performance. Document and provide performance feedback to staff in a timely manner.

• Ensure consistent execution of coding services processes (e.g., coding review, claim adjustments etc.)

• Assist with development of department and team goals. Ensure timelines are met by the team.

• Identify and implement process improvement opportunities in an effort to increase operational efficiency and reduce rework.

• Document team processes, progress, activities, production, quality, and issues. Facilitate daily team standups.

• Identify, monitor, and appropriately escalate known issues and risks.

• Serve as backup for any team member.

• Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree in business or related field; demonstrated work experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Current and valid certification as a professional coder from an accredited institution.

Required Experience

One or more years of supervisory experience. Two or more years of experience in Medicaid, Medicare, and managed care organization. Experience with business process improvement. Experience as a certified coder in a healthcare delivery setting, Health insurance (payer) setting or Medicare and/or Medicaid setting.

Preferred Experience

Provider billing or claims processing experience. Experience working with physicians and care systems. Experience with HealthRules Payor. Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills. EncoderPro. Optum Claims Editing Software (CES) - professional and facility.
