Description:
About us:
Target is an iconic brand, a Fortune 50 company and one of America's leading retailers.

Target Merchandising is evolving at an incredible pace. We are constantly reimagining how this $70 billion retailer offers the innovative and guest-inspiring assortments that Target is known and loved for. Our goal is to consistently deliver exceptional value, quality and style that elevates Target as the premier retailer in a competitive global marketplace. Through leading retail and business strategies that make the most of Target's resources and partnerships worldwide, Merchandising works across product categories to create a localized shopping experience, both online and in our 1800 stores. Are you a creative problem-solver who loves to own a category as well as its results? Can you collaborate effectively, execute a plan efficiently and positively influence how Target chooses and presents the right product in the right place at the right price? If so, you will have success on one of our dynamic teams.

As a Sr Pricing Analyst on the Clearance Pricing Strategy team, you will develop and lead end of season strategies to deliver consistent and strategic clearance pricing and insights across businesses within Hardlines and Food & Beverage. You will work alongside peers across multiple disciplines, including a robust strategy team and global operations team. This requires collaboration and building shared goals across Buying, Planning, and Technology. This role will have regular leader interactions at business unit roundtables and a hand in creating the future of clearance pricing strategies within the Hardlines and Food & Beverage business at Target.

These pricing strategies will result in optimal financial outcomes, through maximizing clearance profitability, and support what is best for our guest, digital experience, and stores. Specifically, the individual in this role is responsible for clearance price management including end of season/out strategy creation, clearance program optimization, and forecasting. This position is also a key partner in all levels of Merchandising, which includes Roundtable leaders, Pricing Teams, Planners, Buyers, Inventory Management, Divisionals, and (Sr) Directors. You will also maintain a close partnership with support areas throughout the company, including Stores, Space & Presentation, Finance, Marketing, and Product.

A critical part of this role is developing strong relationships with Planners and Merchants along with key partner areas like Store Operations, Product, and Finance. You will learn and clearly understand planner/merchant businesses, strategies, and objectives; supporting them as a consultant in their pursuit. You will develop division-specific financial goals and objectives for key pricing initiatives, while investigating the potential impacts of strategic business initiatives. You will need to interpret financial and operational performance to identify business risks and opportunities, and create pricing tools to streamline decision-making. You will have the opportunity to help define the direction of our product modernization work to enhance our ability to support the organization. Some other areas you will be responsible for are the coordination of cross-functional reviews, support of new and on-going initiatives, and the development of process improvements using strategic problem-solving skills. It's crucial for you to have the ability to use strong critical thinking and communication skills to educate merchants and other key partners and influence pricing decisions. Further, the ability to synthesize complex topics and clearly communicate what matters most simplistically to partners is essential. You will drive collaborative dialogue and processes within global Clearance Analyst teams and lead key captainships. You will take an active role in training other Target team members on pricing tools and strategies.
