Job Overview:

A role with Target Packaging is an opportunity to lead the development of packaging for Target's beloved owned brands, exclusive partnerships and select transit packaging. Your influence will drive sales and grow brand love through packaging that's guest-centric, on brand, competitive "at shelf" and category relevant. Here, you'll leverage internal and external partnerships to execute packaging planning, project management, print development, copy and structural development to achieve brand expression and market differentiation. Your work will prioritize and manage packaging projects, securing the correct resources and creative needs to deliver on time and budget. As part of a global team spanning the U.S., China and India, you'll have partners at sourcing offices overseas, as well as international vendors and suppliers. As a Packaging Strategist, you will...
  • Understand how packaging works in multiple business, including brand and category level packaging.
  • Broad understanding of marketplace, consumer and category trends, as well as broader marketing and merchandising strategies to develop innovative solutions.
  • Author packaging briefs and lead others to develop packaging structures that deliver on owned brand principles and positioning.
  • Effectively collaborate with key cross-functional leaders to identify and drive strategic initiatives that support packaging owned brand business.
  • Synthesize packaging insights from Target Guest Insights and third-party researchers, as well as have an ongoing understanding of what is happening in the market for relevant categories.

    About you:
  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 3-7 years of work experience, preferably in Brand Marketing.
  • Lead peers and partners in the evaluation of work through a brand and guest lens.
  • Incorporate relevant guest insights, business strategy, and brand positioning to packaging work.
  • Strong strategic and decision-making skills with ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication skills across settings, tailoring message as appropriate.
  • Able to demonstrate flexibility in approach and adapt to changing priorities and requirements.

This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $62,500 to $112,500. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Target cares about and invests in you as a team member, so that you can take care of yourself and your family.
