This role is for an engineering student seeking experience in the design and development of electrical vehicles. Working in this roll the student can expect to be involved in a variety of disciplines including vehicle software, embedded controls and vehicle/motor control, electric vehicle communication, systems engineering, battery systems, and vehicle data analysis.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

This person would work along side a small team of electrical, software, mechanical, systems, and battery engineers to move existing machines from the feasibility stage into production. In this heavily hands-on role staff engineers will work with the individual to develop their technical and project management skills. The volume of technical design work will increase gradually as the person gains confidence. From the outset, the individual will be responsible for assisting our staff engineers with development on our existing electric vehicles. At the culmination of each term, our goal is to report out on a significant and visible contribution to a product launch.

Job Qualifications:

  • Working towards a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar.
  • We require interns to be enrolled in an educational program during the duration of the internship program.
  • This is an entry level role, so relevant internships, extracurricular and other part time experiences are highly desired. No full time engineering experience is required.
  • Experience and interest in areas of electrical design, embedded systems, controls, batteries, or robotics is desired
  • Genuine curiosity and willingness to understand how our products are designed, built, and operate


  • Basic proficiency with a programming language (C, C++, Python, MATLAB, or similar)
  • Basic proficiency with electrical concepts
  • Knowledge of or has worked with oscilloscopes, digital logic analyzers, digital multimeters, etc.
