To support the HR Strategy, the HR team must maintain an understanding of rapidly evolving workforce and human capital trends on an on-going basis. As a Principal Consultant, HR Strategy & Insights, HR Strategy, you will serve as a trusted expert by developing and maintaining deeply synthesized research and insights on workforce and human capital trends and strategies that could cause disruption or opportunistic moments for Target. You'll serve as a shared resource across the HR pyramid curating research and insights through a breadth of internal and external data sources through the lens of the HR Strategy. As you collaborate and coordinate with key partners to curate and integrate insights, you'll drive deeper understanding and impact of human capital trends and competitive moves. Your ability to deliver proactive and actionable synthesis of competitive and human capital trends to Target's HR Leadership Team and key partners will play a role in helping shape and deliver our HR strategy.

You'll serve as an influential partner-acting as a consultant to drive impact for the organization. While this is an individual contributor role, this role will work across teams to drive timing and alignment of strategic deliverables. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a trusted expert and consultant in proactively developing and curating insights in service of HR Strategy's existing and future strategic direction, inclusive of Strategic Priorities and HR Operating Model
  • Integrate with HR Strategy planning process to ensure proper focus on external factors, trends, and insights across key planning milestones
  • Build a network and leverage primary research capabilities to gain insights from key partners, develop strategic questions, collection plans, and analysis to deliver clear, forward-looking insight
  • Ensure constant and widespread understanding of trends and external factors synthesized through HR Strategy lens​ with key partners (i.e. Enterprise Strategy, Talent Analytics) across Target
  • Operationalize management of and access to memberships/contracts and vendors inclusive of budget planning and ROI measurement
  • Standardize research approach for Enterprise HR​

About you:
  • 4-year college degree with minimum 7-10 years of experience driving strategic business insights; Master's degree with one to three years of work experience in HR or Research & Insights is highly desired
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual problem-solving skills and ability to synthesize and clearly communicate complex findings to focus on critical issues and actionable opportunities
  • Ability to synthesize a vast amount of information and insights from external sources, and process through the lens of our internal strategy
  • Ability to work both independently and lead cross-functional teams
  • Ability to assimilate information quickly and to learn/ follow a systematic approach to strategic problem solving: define/ reframe key questions, develop hypotheses, structure quantitative and qualitative analyses to develop insights, formulate well-founded recommendations, and communicate recommendations to leaders at all levels of the organization, including senior executives
  • Demonstrated success working closely with senior executive leaders, including influencing without authority
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with a strong ability to be an innate listener, simplify complex insights and tell compelling stories
  • Innate curiosity and desire to learn with a strong inclination to drive for results in ambiguous spaces.
  • Strong ability to make connections between bodies of work​; sees connections and strategic opportunities easily

This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $113,800k to $204,900k.
